چکیده

This paper defines and analyzes a fundamental energy-constrained balancing problem, in which elements need to be balanced across resources in order to minimize the increasing convex cost function associated with the load at each resource. However, the balancing operation needs to satisfy average and instantaneous constraints on the energy associated with checking the current load of the many resources. In the paper, we first show tight lower and upper bounds on the solution of the problem depending on the specific system parameters. Then, we explain how these solutions can be applied to construct hash tables with optimal variance of the bin size, as well as energy-efficient Bloom filters.

LEBRP - A Lightweight and Energy Balancing Routing Protocol for Energy-Constrained Wireless Ad Hoc Networks

A wireless ad hoc network typically refers to any set of wireless networks where all devices have equal status on a network and are free to associate with any other wireless ad hoc network devices in their range. As the nature of these networks, they commonly do not have external power supplies, and each node has a limited internal power source. In this paper, we put forward a new routing proto...

Redistributive Non-Dissipative Battery Balancing Systems with Isolated DC/DC Converters: Theory, Design, Control and Implementation

Energy storage systems with many Lithium Ion battery cells per string require sophisticated balancing hardware due to individual cells having manufacturing inconsistencies, different self discharge rates, internal resistances and temperature variations. For capacity maximization, safe operation, and extended lifetime, battery balancing is required. Redistributive non-dissipative balancing furth...

Convergence of a balancing domain decomposition by constraints and energy minimization

A convergence theory is presented for a substructuring preconditioner based on constrained energy minimization concepts. The preconditioner is formulated as an Additive Schwarz method and analyzed by building on existing results for Balancing Domain Decomposition. The main result is a bound on the condition number based on inequalities involving the matrices of the preconditioner. Estimates of ...

Survey on Efficient Clustering with Energy Aware Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are defined as dynamic, self-deployed, highly constrained structured network. The WSN is a special kind of network which consists of large number of sensors and minimum one base station. Main difference between the WSN and the traditional wireless networks is that sensors are extremely sensitive to energy consumption. Energy saving and load balancing are the cruc...

An Energy-efficient Mathematical Model for the Resource-constrained Project Scheduling Problem: An Evolutionary Algorithm

In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient mathematical model for the resource-constrained project scheduling problem to optimize makespan and consumption of energy, simultaneously. In the proposed model, resources are speed-scaling machines. The problem is NP-hard in the strong sense. Therefore, a multi-objective fruit fly optimization algorithm (MOFOA) is developed. The MOFOA uses the VIKO...
